Jones and Margie finally made it to Cruz Bay and were able to call with the cell phone.

The generator took some damage so it does not run very well. Its only running 2 hours per day and its very hard to start. The roof took damage and is leaking.

With the lack of power, the laptop is not staying charged enough. The only place for wifi is Coral Bay or Cruz Bay.

If you have questions please contact me on Facebook.

Wish I was more help on the reservations. On the phone we were going through damage, mtg, insurance claim, etc and asking more on reservation dates did not enter my mind fully.
<![CDATA[Update! Doing well!]]>Fri, 22 Sep 2017 15:18:02 GMThttp://iolastjohn.com/home/update-doing-wellJones and Margie called. They spoke with Kent as I was at work. They are doing well. Jones said Irma was 215mph sustained winds with gusts over 250mph! They are eating light to conserve food. Their favorite time is day is cold beer time at Calabash Market a couple hours a day.

Kent ask Jones what he needs and Jones replied a baked potato and some fresh lettuce!

Jones also said WiFi should be up and running is a couple days at Coral Bay Fire Station. (FB posts say today!)

The house held up great. Some leaking in the sleeping porch from Maria but other wise the house fared really well.

As to the renters who have reservations. They are still without a way to email you. Maybe once the wifi is up and running Margie will be able to bring her laptop to the Coral Bay Fire Station.

Kent and I still have tickets for Oct 12th. We are planning bring 4 totes with food and supplies.

<![CDATA[Update!]]>Tue, 12 Sep 2017 15:09:29 GMThttp://iolastjohn.com/home/updateMargie did call me from a Sat phone later Sunday night. I only had 30 seconds on the phone with her and she could not hear me because of a helicopter and a generator! Her and Jones are both fine and the house fared well. She also said they are better off than most.

I am waiting a call from her again - I have a list of questions this ready. You can contact me through facebook messenger:

Nikki Christianson (Margie & Jones Daughter - in Minnesota)

Jon Adams and Caribbean Buzz have posted a lot of aerial footage. You can see Villa Iola in a distance at 1:34 & 1:50. It still has a roof and looks to have no major damage!

<![CDATA[Hurricane Irma]]>Sun, 10 Sep 2017 15:19:49 GMThttp://iolastjohn.com/home/hurricane-irmaJones and Margie are now listed on the safe list. I have not been in contact with them myself but folks on the island have spoke with them. I still have no idea on the condition of Iola.

You can message me on facebook if you hear anything or have questions.
